Category: None Group: traps Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Traps with wrong peername Initial Comment: Hi, when receiving traps with older versions (like 5.4.1) of Net-SNMP, the netsnmp_session had a variable peername which contained the IP address of the sending host in ASCII coding (like "192.168.1.2"). In the current 5.4.2.1 version, the variable contains the IP of the receiving host - not very useful. Is this a bug? Is it a feature? If so, how can I determine the IP address of the machine which sent the trap?
