Category: library Group: aix >Status: Pending Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Kris (tinker105) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: AIX hardcodes path of dependent libs Initial Comment: When building 5.4.1.2 on AIX 5.2, the 'make install' relinks the libs, changing the -blibpath to not include development tree dirs but also specifying dependent libs directly (vs. using -l). This causes the full path to dependent libs to be put in the loader header, "hardcoding" the path to the libs. If the libs are moved, they will not be found (e.g. via the -blibpath or LIBPATH). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Thomas Anders (tanders) Date: 2008-09-23 17:05 Message: If the hard-coded path contains the install location, I'm not sure I'd consider this a bug rather than expected behaviour of libtool on AIX. Where exactly do you see the bug and/or what change do you propose? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112694&aid=2124697&group_id=12694 |
