Yep, it's receiving the coldStart Trap. It's still not sending the traps from the 'monitor'. Here's the output from the snmptrapd output log: 2003-06-04 17:53:28 NET-SNMP version 5.0.8 Started. 2003-06-04 17:53:42 TRAP, SNMP v1, community public from 10.1.14.66 Trap type 6.NET-SNMP-AGENT-MIB::nsNotifyShutdown NET-SNMP-MIB::netSnmpNotificationPrefix 2003-06-04 17:54:09 TRAP, SNMP v1, community public from 10.1.14.66 Trap type 0.0 NET-SNMP-MIB::netSnmpAgentOIDs.3 2003-06-04 18:58:13 TRAP, SNMP v1, community public from 10.1.14.66 Trap type 6.NET-SNMP-AGENT-MIB::nsNotifyShutdown NET-SNMP-MIB::netSnmpNotificationPrefix 2003-06-04 18:58:19 TRAP, SNMP v1, community public from 10.1.14.66 Trap type 0.0 NET-SNMP-MIB::netSnmpAgentOIDs.3 Patrick -----Original Message----- From: Dave Shield [mailto:D.T...@cs...] Sent: Thursday, June 05, 2003 1:07 AM To: Patrick Hess Cc: net...@li... Does your snmptrapd receive a 'coldStart' trap when the agent first starts up? And an enterprise-specific trap when the agent shuts down? > Can someone help me configure the snmpd.conf? Well, the obvious thing that seems to be missing is any form of 'trapsink' entry (or equivalent). Without that, the agent won't know where to direct the traps that it wants to send. Dave |
