Hi, a week ago I downloaded and installed the driver in the actual version (0.3) on my laptop (Acer TM 801 LCib). SuSeE 9.0 Professional is my actual distribution. I tested the Linuxant driver which worked very good but I wanted free software. I have the Intel Wireless Card like every other Centrino Laptop and I use the kernel 2.4.21 (I think). It is the standard kernel from SuSE. After compiling the driver and the loader without errors I load the kernel module (insmod driver/ndiswrappper.o) and run the loader (utils/loaddriver 8086 1043 /home/me/ndiswrapper/wintreiber/w70n51.sys /home/me/ndiswrapper/wintreiber/w70n51.inf). The Windows driver is directly from Acer (I think it worked also with the Linuxant driver). In the front of my laptop is a red led which blinks after running the loader (it means the card works). Now I see the interface eth1 when I use the command iwconfig. Then I set the mode (Managed), the WEP Key and the essid (spiel). In the README stands that I should configure my network parameters for the interface eth1. When I start yast2 or yast I cannot find the interface eth1. To bring up the network I use ifconfig eth1 up. In the ifconfig list now I can find the interface but it has no ip adress and I cannot use Samba or Mozilla Firebird. I still disabled WEP because I read that sometimes it won't work with it but no chance. Again no ip adress. In the last hours I tested much, read many threads in the archive and looked with google a long time but I found no help. So perhaps you can help me because I'm a newbie to linux... Here is some output: kolossa:/home/me/ndiswrapper # iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. sit0 no wireless extensions. eth1 IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"" Mode:Managed Frequency:2.447GHz Bit Rate=11Mb/s RTS thr=1600 B Fragment thr=2344 B Encryption key:1234-ABCD-5678-EFGH-9012-IJKL-34 Security mode:restricted Power Management:off Link Quality:0 Signal level:190 Noise level:0 Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 kolossa:/home/me/ndiswrapper # ifconfig eth1 up kolossa:/home/me/ndiswrapper # ifconfig eth0 Protokoll:Ethernet Hardware Adresse 00:C0:9F:27:E3:A9 inet6 Adresse: fe80::2c0:9fff:fe27:e3a9/64 Gültigkeitsbereich:Verbindung UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 Kollisionen:0 Sendewarteschlangenlänge:100 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Interrupt:5 Basisadresse:0x4000 Speicher:d0204000-d0205080 eth1 Protokoll:Ethernet Hardware Adresse 00:04:23:59:40:FD inet6 Adresse: fe80::204:23ff:fe59:40fd/64 Gültigkeitsbereich:Verbindung UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:1 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 Kollisionen:0 Sendewarteschlangenlänge:100 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:78 (78.0 b) Interrupt:10 Speicher:d0206000-d0206fff lo Protokoll:Lokale Schleife inet Adresse:127.0.0.1 Maske:255.0.0.0 inet6 Adresse: ::1/128 Gültigkeitsbereich:Maschine UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:200 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:200 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 Kollisionen:0 Sendewarteschlangenlänge:0 RX bytes:11212 (10.9 Kb) TX bytes:11212 (10.9 Kb) kolossa:/home/me/ndiswrapper # iwlist eth1 scan eth1 Scan completed : Cell 01 - Address: 00:40:05:5B:3C:A1 ESSID:"spiel" Protocol:IEEE 802.11b Mode:Managed Frequency:2.447GHz Quality:0 Signal level:221 Noise level:0 Encryption key:on Bit Rate:1Mb/s Bit Rate:2Mb/s Bit Rate:5.5Mb/s Bit Rate:11Mb/s Bit Rate:22Mb/s I hope you can help me (and sorry for my very bad english!)!
