If it is ndiswrapper and the nvidia is a typo, then see the almost identical thread "ndiswrapper freezes system" for what's going on: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=6403997&forum_id=36471 The short answer is recompile your kernel without CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK and everything should work just fine. Is there some reason that you are not using the latest kernel anymore?
