Please generate a new configure so that I can test
a fix I added for DODS-enables linking.
I thought I would be able to to find a self-consistent
set of autotools on the compile farm so I could do
this myself, but they have old autotools installed
so --enable-maintainer-mode does not work there.

Done. I wish autotools was more stable and there wasn't this consistency problem. It is _suppose_ to make things easier.
