Just an FYI - after fighting thru multiple layers of errors, it looks like finally, OpenDAP is responsible for some errors (and admits it).

Running the latest commits (12:30pm, Jan 04/06) will give 0 or 1 regression error (depending on your x86 architecture) when running against the opendap server on sand:
    http://sand.ess.uci.edu/cgi-bin/dods/nph-dods/dodsdata
but will generate several errors when running against hiperstore:
    http://128.195.169.30/cgi-bin/dods/nph-dods/dodsdata

I'm writing up a posting to the opendap people now.

and unfortunately many of the benchmarks also fail: hitting hiperstore:
                         Test Results                Seconds to complete

Test   Success    Failure   Total   WallClock    Real   User  System    Diff
            ncap:        1                  1     137.70   137.65  37.34   35.50   64.81
            ncbo:        1                  1       0.68     0.00   0.00    0.00    0.00

      while hitting sand:
                          Test Results                Seconds to complete
                   --------------------------   ----------------------------------------
Test   Success    Failure   Total   WallClock    Real   User  System    Diff

          ncecat:        1                  1      41.04    38.35   5.57    4.62   28.16
           ncpdq:        4                  4     642.14   642.00 368.78   87.79  185.43
            ncra:        1                  1     491.67   491.64  86.40   61.74  343.50
            ncwa:        3                  3     140.35   140.24  56.46   36.12   47.66

I guess the only thing to do if they can't fix this by Monday is to strip the latest DAP server from hiperstore and opendap/sdsc and install the older one.

Yes, non-working DAP servers are not very helpful.
I'm confused as to which versions work and which don't. Does DAP 3.5.1 work? I do not want to go back
        to 3.4.x.
