NCID 1.4 Released

Network Caller ID (NCID) Release 1.4

Overview

This release includes code fixes and documentation updates, adds a new server feature, a new client feature, and significantly improves communicating with PCI and USB modems.

Features and fixes for this NCID release

  • New Feature: A Server Hangup Extension calls an external script to determine if the server should hangup on the call. It is separate from the Internal Hangup logic which uses a blacklist but it has the same hangup modes. If Internal Hangup and Hangup Extensions are enabled at the same time, the server tries for a match on the Internal Hangup before trying the Hangup Extension.... read more

NCID 1.3 Released

Network Caller ID (NCID) Release 1.3

Overview

This release continues with fixes, code improvement, and new features.

A WiKi page has been created for the FCC weekly file of unwanted calls you can blacklist.

Instead of one directory for modules, recordings, and system scripts, each is now placed in a separate directory. Package upgrades check to see if modules and recordings need to be moved to their new directory. Any user generated modules and recordings will also be moved to the new directories.

The new ncidd.conf file allows selection of the distributed recordings in their new location. It is important to move any changes from the current configuration files to the new one.... read more

NCID Android 0.1.0.26 Released

Version 0.1.0.26 of NCID Android is now available. It was determined after release of NCID Android 0.1.0.23 that there were some severe compatibility issues with Android 6.0. These issues are believed to have been resolved. Apologies for any inconvenience.

This version contains the following changes:
• Android 6.0 permissions support
• Minimum Android supported version changed to 2.3

NCID Android 0.1.0.23 Released

Version 0.1.0.23 of NCID Android is now available. This version contains the following changes:
• Added widget capability for calls
• Fixed issue with outgoing SMS messages not being sent to server on some devices
• Fixed issue with incoming/outgoing group MMS messages not being sent to server on some devices
• Add support for European DD-MM-YYYY format

NCID 1.2 Released

NCID Release 1.2

This release fixes the ncid2ncid gateway, improves on a feature in the ncid-page module and improves on the server announce hangup feature. The online documentation was also improved by adding sections on aliases and auto hangup modes.

Features and fixes:

  • Announce hangup has a default announcement file called NumberDisconnected.rmd
    which works for modems containing a CONEXANT chipset. It also works with

NCID 1.1 Released

NCID Release 1.1

There are many improvements and fixes in the server, client, and gateways. This release includes a new gateway and new features including an experimental hangup feature.

The TiVo Series 1 is no longer supported. Release 1.0 is the last release
that supported it.

Features and fixes for this NCID (Network Caller ID) release:

  • Fixed client jobs that failed to add an alias if the name contains YO or ACK
  • Fixed a possible fault that can terminate the server when sending the call file to clients.
  • Fixed a bug in the delay option the Whozz Calling gateway. The code for dealing with timeouts was also improved.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause the connect table in ncid to overflow.
  • Added support for TCI type serial devices.
  • Added support for France telco modems in ncidd.
  • Added FR (France) to the ncid country formats in the ncid client.
  • Added option to use regular expressions instead of simple expressions in the blacklist and whitelist files.
  • Added default blocking for the 900 area code and for more international area codes that are the same as US area codes in the distributed blacklist file.

LCDncid 0.20 Released

LCDncid Release 0.20

LCDncid is a client of both NCID and LCDproc. It displays NCID information for Caller ID and messages on a LCD using LCDd. LCDncid works properly with other LCDd clients.

New features:

  • The date display formats increased to six: MM/DD MM-DD MM.DD DD/MM DD-MM DD.MM
  • The backlight can be turned off.
  • A call or message will turn the backlight on if it is off.
  • The SELECT button on the Adafruit Pi Plate LCD can toggle the backlight
    on and off.
  • Added a multi-screen option for calls and messages.
    1 additional screen is added for a 2-line display.
    2 additional screens are added for a 1-line display.
    The screens will rotate at the screen display time.
  • Modified the source build instructions to build LCDproc with only the hd44780,
    curses, picolcd, and xosd drivers.
  • Modified the two LCDd.conf replacement files to support the build version of

NCID Android 0.1.0.16 Released

NCIDpop 0.10.5 Released

Version 0.10.5 of NCIDpop is now available for the Windows, Macintosh, and Linux platforms. This new version supports additional options for displaying incoming messages (i.e. using a 3rd party notifier or the system tray). Additionally, an option was added to display message log entries in a more tabular format, as well as distinguishing outgoing and incoming messages in the message log. NCID 1.0 Released

NCID Release 1.0

NCID jumps from version 0.89 to version 1.0. Lots of improvements with new
features.

The client module input was simplified and expanded. Third party modules,
previous to this release, that handle messages will need to set the
compatibility mode in ncid.conf for those modules.

New with this release is API version 1.0. The API has four
feature sets of compatibility. Feature set 1 is required. Feature sets 2, 3,

NCIDpop 0.10.4 Released

Version 0.10.4 of NCIDpop is now available for the Windows, Macintosh, and Linux platforms. This new version supports audio mixer selection for sound playback, as well a selectable option for displaying dates in the call and message logs in a "raw" format (some users in Europe were experiencing problems with non-standard date formats).

NCID 0.89 Released

This NCID (Network Caller ID) release continues to improve the client
and server jobs feature. Also included is a new message format for
MSG and NOT messages, and better support for smart phone client and
gateway combinations.
