Scenario 1: say you were using a phone an n70 and recently you bought yourself a new phone n95 and been using it for some time. And you still need to refer to all of the data or lets just say particular data from the n70 like contacts. So you backup your n70 and your n95. You can either simply merge the two backup files into one new backup file, Or pick which individual data you would like to merge to form the new backup file (example a few selected contacts from the two phones' backup files, or only just the entire contacts folder from the two phones' backup files), - the new backup file that is made from the two phones' backup files is now to be loaded in either phone (the new backup file can be of various format/extension, so that it can be loaded into either phones; or other various nokia phones)
Scenario 2: same as the above but the new backup file to be used across different platforms, example from nokia to android
Scenario 3: you would like to load an old backup of the same phone without overwriting the existing data on the phone. You simply would like to add to it.
Please consider my suggestions. Im sure there are many of you out there capable of achieving these. Thank you
Just released version 3.2 introduces ability to merge data from multiple backup files - just for view & export (does not write any backup file). Even it is not exactly what is requested here, I believe that it can be useful too.
I am afraid that writing modified backup that could be restored back to phone will never be implemented as it is simply too big challenge :)
