For GPS phone maybe... but there is a big difference on the fact to own maps or not.

With gMap or gEarth, you can't use your map, OSM Map or I don't know.

By the way, there is many IM client whitch receive contributions by gSoC (like gajim) and they are concurrent to gTalk...

We will have to remember that for the opening of next gSoc :)

There is some time to do many thing until that...
