There is an 11.0c binary "patch" available which is in fact a full compiler. It just misses a DOS extender and things like windows.h. For 16-bit DOS targets it's complete. I usually compile the FreeDOS kernel using Watcom C (and NASM) in DOSEMU nowadays. The reason for my bug fix is that recent NASMs could not assemble the relevant FreeDOS files anymore. The Watcom source code is available too (since May). Andi Kleen ported the code generator to compile with gcc a couple of months ago, but after that I haven't heard from him on that front. I have the full compiler now compiled using gcc so can cross compile from Linux to DOS/Windows using wcc(386). Watcom C cannot produce ELF objects yet though. Look around at www or ftp.openwatcom.org. Bart |
