THIS BUG IS CONFIRMED AND POSSIBLY FIGURED OUT:

I have confirmed this copy/paste bug too and remembered it working before and maybe have the problem figured out as to why it's happening.

My Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit.
My NAPS2 Version: 6.0.4.22698
My Printer: HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One Printer/Scanner/Fax

I tried uninstalling the Beta version (6.04.22698) and installed EVERY PREVIOUS version from 5.6.0 thru 5.8.2 and all of them have the same problem.

I was always opening up a User Manual PDF file I downloaded from the internet for my copy/paste testing and they all failed.

I then decided to open a PDF file I created thru NAPS2 that had a mixture of the following types of pages:

  • Pages originally scanned in on my C7280 scanner and saved thru NAPS2
  • Pages I imported in from another pdf file that were NOT saved thru NAPS2
NOTE: I printed an online invoice and instead of printing it, I selected the SAVE AS PDF print destination (via a Quicken PDF printer) and saved it as a PDF file. I then IMPORTED this PDF file into NAPS2 and also scanned in other pages I received in my product's package when it arrived and saved them all into one big PDF.

It seems that pages ORIGINALLY SAVED by NAPS2 (i.e. from my scanner) CAN be COPIED and PASTED.
Pages ORIGINALLY SAVED thru some other program (i.e. my PDF file I created thru my browser's PRINT / SAVE AS PDF function or a PDF document I downloaded) will allow the COPY function to be selected, but NEVER GETS SAVED TO THE CLIPBOARD from these pages and thus the PASTE function is greyed out and not selectable.

Note: You can test what's in the clipboard by pasting the clipboard's contents into another program like Microsoft Word or using a clipboard viewer program.

Also Note that if you already successfully COPIED a page originally saved from NAPS2 into the clipboard and then COPY a different page NOT originally saved from NAPS2 and then use the PASTE function (which is selectable because there is something in the clipboard), your pasted page will be the one originally saved from NAPS2 (because it was the last one that was successfully copied into the clipboard).
