WIA Left Margin Issue
Scan documents to PDF and other file types, as simply as possible.

I own an HP 6500 and lately I switched from scanning in TWAIN mode to WIA mode. Scanning in WIA mode works correctly through my driver's interface. I remember it worked correctly on an older version of naps2 (if you want I can try out versions). With naps2 4.5.0 I get the issue you see in the attached pictures.
Unfortunately I was wrong. Went back as far as version 3.3.5, the behaviour was consistently the same as in my pictures.
As a workaround I set the Horizontal Align to Right in Profile Settings and it seems to work fine (at least for A4 scans it does).
Glad to be of help, btw I can confirm a similar issue with US Letter 8.5x11 in WIA mode. In that case, it is the bottom part of the page that gets truncated.
Perhaps it is a general issue with every page size in WIA mode, but I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of this (like so many times in the past).
As I write on my previous post, if you scan a US Letter, it is the bottom part that gets truncated, so it's not always the left side of the page that has the issue.
Right now I'm on a business trip, sending this message from the hotel, I'll be back tomorrow and I know I could test this on an EPSON SOHO multi-machine and a professional MINOLTA BUSINESS HUB machine.
I'll let you know the result. Out of curiosity, what scanning system do you have?
Ok, sorry for the delay...
I tested naps2 (4.5.1) on:
1.EPSON SX-535WD. Only TWAIN was available, works fine
2.PANASONIC KX-MB771GR. Only TWAIN was available, works fine
3.MINOLTA BUSINESS HUB
This supports even A3 scanning, duplex, auto feeder, anything you can imagine.
Scanning in TWAIN mode works perfectly.
Now in WIA mode...
As you suggested I tried scanning from glass and ADF, I even used duplex to see if there were any differences.
It doesn't work right...
I tried scanning A4 from glass and I got the left margin issue, only even worse than in my HP.
Scanning the same page from ADF, naps2 froze altogether (wouldn't do anything).
Scanning B5, A5 I had minor left margin and bottom margin issues. Scanning A3 was the worse, it was truncating top, bottom and left.
The thing is, I was staring at the results in naps2 trying to figure out if there was a certain pattern and couldn't come to a conclusion.
As a last thing before I left, I used a commercial software that had been bought by the company long ago, called scanitto pro. It too supports WIA so I repeated the tests and guess what, it works!
They told me the particular software has many other issues so they only use it on that specific machine and the reason being "it skips blank pages". Yes, in a corporate environment, apparently this is importart.
Sorry, I can't be of more help. Next week, I'll have access to more scanning hardware, if you want, I can test WIA mode on those machines too.

I want to help but I'm afraid I won't be having any access to the particular bizhub machine for at least two weeks, I will have access to other machines though and I'll be glad to test WIA using your attached version.
I'll keep you posted of any results and in the meantime if you have anything to suggest / add please don't hesitate.
I like naps2 very much, it serves me well and I want to help get rid of any (serious) bugs.
Real life has finally caught up with me and I didn't have any time to use the test version you sent me. But I will find the time if not this week, then surely the following to use the test version of naps2.
By the way, should I use that version over the latest version of naps2?
On a relevant note, I only tested 4.6.0 on my HP 6500 and I can say it is the same as on previous versions. My usual workaround is to use the right alignment option which makes it work as it should.
No, what I see is exactly what you can see in the two pictures I attached on my first post. This goes for my HP 6500 and an HP 6830.
Actually, that seems to work (on my HP 6500).
If I compare the output for the same page on WIA and TWAIN output, what I notice is WIA has a right margin that is extended further to the right than that of the TWAIN output. Other than that, no differences, WIA and TWAIN look great!
