I just spent 30 minutes doing a batch scan of dozens of pages, a very long document. When I said 'done' it came back with an error saving the file... the reason doesn't matter. End of story. Nothing saved. 30 minutes wasted.
When the software can't save the data to the location specified, it needs to ask the user for a different location and give the opportunity to correct the problem and save the data. How do we get this feature improvement built into the software?

Gail,
no idea what you are trying to save but on my version (quite old) I
set the save locations in the PDF and Image settings dialogues from the
save drop downs.
NAPS 2 then prompts me with a file dialogue box where to save the scan
to. So either change the location in the settings of just change the
location in the file dialogue.
So if you are trying to save and for whatever reason (say the USB stick
or drive is full) and it comes back to you with an error, I would have
thought that as it's come back to you and said "can't" you could change
the settings there and try resaving.
If you are trying to use the scan and automatic save function then you
can change the settings in a profile edit - auto save bits. - It's in
the manual.
Personally I avoid this option as that doesn't give me any chance to
correct any stupid errors like me getting a page in wrong or a crooked
page causes a partial scan before it tries to save
I suspect that if you also have auto delete images ticked in those
settings that's probably why things disappeared but as I don't use that
function I can't tell you from experience.
Unfortunately if you are using auto then it sounds like it may be
behaving as it's been told to.

I'll try to clarify. When I run a Batch Scan, to put multiple documents into one file, before I begin the scan I have to specify the destination of the resulting document. When the scan is complete and I select 'done', it had an error trying to save to my specified location. Rather than ask me for an alternative destination, it just ended. I lost all the work, a half hour's worth of scanning.
If the save fails, naps2 should ask whether I want to specify an alternative, not just delete my work.

For that matter, why does it ask for the save location before beginning the scan? It doesn't do that with single scans. It holds the results in memory until the user decides what to do next.
And why are the fonts so small. Where is the setting to enlarge them?

@Gail Walden: Agreed that that should be handled better. In the meantime there is a "Load into NAPS2" option you can choose for Batch Scan, then save from the main window afterwards.
