Suunto Quest XML file import (please)

Hello, as requested here are some files for you to play with, to accomodate the Suunto Quest XML files.
Request: If we could get MTB to import XML files from a Windows (10) machine from a Suunto Quest watch. Files attached, let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks for all those files.
Do you have some with GPS data ?

I noticed that the below files are identical despite having a different name, can you confirm that it's normal ?
Quest_946834482_20200518151354.xml
Quest_946834482_20200518151648.xml
Quest_946834482_20200518152734.xml
Quest_946834482_20200518155242.xml
Hi there. Yes, that is basically trhe same file, sorry. The names are just the time stamps when I tried to access the data, and I tried four times trying to get Moveslink to pick it up (which led me to MTB) :)
The GPS pod with my model I don't think gives actual GPS data (like a Garmin would). It uses its own signal to determine the speed and distance (in the XML file, the tags are the "POD1DistLimit" (1-3) and the SpeedHighLimit and SpeedLowLimit tags as well as the Distance nodes under the Moves node. (best that I can tell).
Hope this helps?
Yes, that helps.
I knew the Quest could use a GPS pod but i thought it would actually record a GPS track but i understand now that it is used to compute the distance.
However, on the official site, I read this:
The Suunto GPS Track POD stores tracks, speed, distance and GPS altitude data
However, I don't see any altitude Tag in your files ( i see cadence, HR and distance), do you know if it's normal ? maybe it's a setting to activate ?
If you have files with altitude data, I am interested
The more complete are the file examples and the better the import will be :-)
Thanks!
Also, here is a preview of the Suunto Quest files import in MTB :-)
Thanks, this is looking really good. I see the site mentions altitude, but I never through the settings noticed anything mentioning altitude. I think with this latest change that Suunto has made, I cannot edit the watch's settings either to go in and see if that's an option I can turn on. I will do some digging around in various forums and see if someone has figured out a way to do that. For my feature request though, I don't really care about altitude, so don't spend too much time on it on my account. :)
**Edit: Did some digging and I did come across elevation. It must be a setting in there to turn on based on your needs, and I never had turned it on. Let me see if I can edit the settings on the watch and get you an example with that (to be thorough). Thanks again for looking into this.

Thank you for your digging. I look forward to having a file with altitude
Hey there. I set up a mountaineering profile in the watch and a trekking one, and neither gave me the option foraltitude. Sorry I can't provide you with one. I will keep looking for it though and if I manage to figure it out, I'll be in touch
Brandon,
As I have implemented the Suunto Quest XML Import into MT (and submitted it for the next MT release), would you be interested in having access to a development build so you can test it and let me know if that looks good and if anything needs to be "polished"/modified before that actual release ?
Let me know
Frederic
I'd be willing to do that for sure. Anything to help. Let me know what I can do (and when)

A test version MUST NOT be tested with the "production" tour data because any changes in this test (development) version, e.g. tour database version can cause lots of troubles to the users when it changes in the released version.
I have mentioned that in my PM to Brandon yesterday :
VERY IMPORTANT: Please backup your database first as this build is NOT an official release. That way, once you uninstall it and install the official 20.3 release again, you can restore your data unaltered.
Hey, seems to work fine. Data is imported. Missing GPS data, but that's because the watch doesn't provide it. HR, time etc are all there.
Thanks for testing Brandon.
If you come across files that have additional data, please send them over, I'd love to add support for more data such as GPS, elevation...etc
Frederic
Absolutely! Thanks again.
