When administrators login to an authors personal page they can then run the function 'manage duplication' to eliminate a duplicate record.
The criteria they can enter includes year, title, author list, etc.
The type of information they enter against the criteria includes 'matches exactly', 'matches nearly exactly', 'matches approximately', and 'can be anything'
Sometimes an admin will have to enter differing criteria many times for the other duplicate record to be retrieved.
More often than not the user will know the publication id of the duplicate record. It has been suggested that in addition to the criteria listed above there should be an additional box that will allow the user to type in the other pubid and retrieve on that instead of using the other fields.
This would be extremely useful for admins and save them a lot of time...
