[Mynewsgroups-list] Fatal error: Call to undefined function: session_start()

did some upgrading with apache and php
Apache-AdvancedExtranetServer/1.3.26 (Mandrake Linux/2mdk) PHP/4.2.1

now i get this error and also noticed problems with another web app, so
im guessing its something with php 4.2.1
any help would be great
