I am not very familiar with /Functional Languages/.  I have studied the 
Kansas Lava in the past, briefly.  /Functional Languages/ for HDLs seem 
to have the same track record as they have had with general programming 
languages; they appear to be an elegant solution but when the rubber 
meets the road they are difficult to use.
