I have zero talent for graphical design, so I'm reluctant to comment  :-)

I like the idea of the snake and the chip but probably a more
"abstracted" design is better for a logo. And perhaps a chip package
is more recognizable than a die (it shouldn't resemble a bug though :-))
The new python logo has such an abstract snake, although I don't particularly
think it's a very strong logo.
