I am pleased to announce that I will soon resume development of the TL880 driver for Linux. For your information, here are a few of the ideas and planned tasks for the next few months: - Porting to kernel 2.6 - Porting to the DVB API - Adding support for the NXT200x demodulators (using new source code) - Adding support for other chips using new code - Figuring out how the TL880 gets data around the card and to the system Several new drivers, including the HD3000 and Air2PC, have provided source code that supports many of the components on TL880-based cards. These include the NXT2000 series of demodulators, the ATSC tuners, etc. It seems that a project to support a USB PVR device in 2002 implemented partial support of the VPX3226 video decoder, also used on the MyHD. If anyone is willing to run tests again, I will probably have a new version ready a few weeks after I can get my system up to date with the latest kernel, et= c. Mike Bourgeous |
