Well, it seems that we are forced to work with the bytecode that MWEdit creates, even though a new VM-spec could be created that increases the speed of the vm. I've successfully implemented a vm that runs "setx myLong to xStringLenth "Hello"" and it it is about 4 fps faster than the current vm, but I'll bet it would be even faster if it didn't have to work with an inefficient byte code format.
