#1 playnext with PID file

Is there any way playnext can create a PID file. I have
had it crash on me a few times. I would like to create
a script that monitors playnext and restarts it if
neccessary.

Example of error.
Random song: /jon_b/cool_relax/pride__joy.mp3
playnext: Too many open files
