Hello, I'm interested in using Munin, as it seems an ideal tool for some of what I need to do, but I am interested in having all of my clients connect to the central server, rather than having the central server connect to each of the clients. The biggest reason I want this is because it makes my servers more self-sufficient; if they're up, they make sure their configuration is up-to-date, and if they're down then the central server doesn't waste its time on them. I've got a similar system, with each of my clients connecting to a central server, but using LDAP as the central server and storing non-monitoring related information, and I'm very happy with how it operates. It gives me more central control over security, it means only one daemon listening on the whole network to make it work, and again it makes my machines more autonomous, which I prefer. Is this currently supported? Also, is there a community repository for other plugins? I'd like to share any plugins that I write, and it'd be nice if there were some easy way to do so. Thanks, Luke -- Really? He might do it just for fun. I know I would. If I were God, I'd get together with all my other God friends and have a big party. We'd all get drunk and create unliftable rocks, then try to lift them. It would be loads of fun! Then I'd probably just destroy the rocks with a lightning bolt. Then I'd probably pass out. :^) -- toMM, in rec.puzzles --------------------------------------------------------------------- Luke Kanies | http://abstractive.org | http://reductiveconsulting.com |
