Once the munin-node was restricted to listening on localhost, we could use the underlying OS to provide auth/crypt, with something like ssh tunnelling, or stunnel. These are, of course, short-term strategies compared to providing such facilities in the application itself, but things should be done one step at a a time :-) -jim |
