Yet you say this Fast user switching is not fast enough? You are correct but Multi-User at one time does sound kinda iffy to me, and M$.
I know this for a fact (My past with computers)
M$ tries to improve their security and yet make the OS as flexible as possible they basically try to make it perfect and everytime they come out with a new OS theres more problems than that are actually fixed. So if you make this application (Id be glad to help) and it does become big, You know youll need many many more people for several reasons the security needs to top-notch with out errors (as close as you can go) sure beta version always helps and ask people to exploit the data transfers and such but itll have to be real good
email me at hidden@rulex.net for more info cuz id like to help with this (its in my field to (C++, VB(although i dont like VB), Networking, Windows/Linux enviorment))

It is astounding how many people don't understand that XP has no -- i.e. zero -- multisuser capability. I was baffled by the whole thing myself till I was trying to set up a thin client network for a client who also thought it should be no problem. The reality for M$ is this: Having to boot into a single user mode defeats the purpose of a network operating system and pretty much insures that the single user system will be THE only system or won't be used at all. M$ knows this for sure so I don't see them rushing to fix it anytime soon. While it just occured to me after reading your email I suspect that much of the securutiy problem that M$ creates can be linked to their single user mentality which just doesn't need the same kinds of or levels of security as a networked enviroment

XP Service pack 2 has bee touted to address this issue. I believe it is slated for 2nd half 2004.
Do you have a link or any more info. It would be much appreciated. Thanks
No, sorry. It was something I read in passing and made a mental note of it. I suppose you could check the MS web site.
