#84 Screen flickers (tab switch)

I'm using multi-gnome-terminal in KDE 3.3.1

I have transparent background and multiple terminals open in the
tab bar. When I switch tab, the background flickers and the switch
is a bit slow.

Then I tried using screen. When switching terminal in screen, the
background don't flicker and the switch is instant. I think this is the
behaviour an user would expect from terminal switch in
multi-gnome-terminal too.

My suggestion:

I really don't know is it a gnome-terminal problem or is it tabbed
window widget's fault. Although tab switch would probably be much
more faster, if the screen wouldn't be redrawn everytime - just
erase the written text and draw another terminal's text, the way
screen would work.

If it is tabbed window widget's fault, why not code own tab window
widget specialized to render text only?
