I have *always* used MGT (since I was born), but I've recently
discovered that if I bring up MGT through linux run through an X11
server on an iBook, the open apple key does not properly respond
as the meta key, preventing me from hitting Alt-P and Alt-N to
scroll through previous tcsh commands. Now I'm wondering - do
you think my entire stash of crack has gone bad, or just the stuff
I'm smoking right now? Cause I'm seeing elephants.
All kidding aside, if I open a simple xterm off that linux server, Alt-
P and Alt-N (using the Apple key as Meta_L, or even Alt_L) work
perfectly well. I've tried xmodmap on my end and on the linux end
- nothing. I don't understand the MGT keybindings well enough to
know if they're causing it, though I turned them off, and the
problem persists. The TERM variable is xterm - explicitly checked
in both MGT and the xterm. xev sees no differences between the
terminals, and printenv yields nothing except SHLVL, which is 1 for
MGT and 2 for xterm.
I assume someone out there uses a mac and may have had this
problem - all suggestions are welcome. Please do not force me to
revert to xterm.
*Please*. I really, really hate xterm.
