Thanks that did work! :) I guess it was working with msys 1 because of the postinstall.sh script which sets up fstab there. I've got a different username than my home directory name because I've logged into Windows 8 with a Microsoft account. I guess I won't make that mistake again ;) Thanks again for your fast help! |

My home directory is /c/Users/jhass_000. I've just found out that it works when I type in "bash --login". Of course I don't want to execute this every time I open up MSYS2. Is there a way to tell mintty to execute this? |

Hi! I've always used a custom .profile file in my %HOME% directory with msys 1. Msys 2 however doesn't seem to read the file at all or overrides the settings I do in there. Is this a bug? Maybe I have my home path not set corretly? |

thanks, "pacman -S msys2-w32api-headers msys2-w32api-runtime" solve the problem. And pacman did not ask me whether to replace. However, when executed "pacman -Su --ignoregroup base", there is a waring that "xxx doesn't meet dependences" and asked me whether to continue, I chose "y". When I executed "pacman -Su", there is no dependency warning, instead, "local is newer" warning arose. Oh, today's upgrade must involved something in "base", because after the upgrade, bash crashed(can not fork). This is because the MinGW-w64 project switched from svn to git. The 6628 is an svn revision and the ce6b0d2 is a git sha1. Did pacman not ask you if you wanted to replace some mingw-svn packages with some mingw-git replacements? If so, you should have said yes to each. To remedy it now, please do: pacman -S msys2-w32api-headers msys2-w32api-runtime .. I wonder if --ignoregroup base may have been responsible for some of your trouble. Today when I upgrade msys2 with: pacman -Sy pacman -Su --ignoregroup base pacman -Su there is this error when executed the "pacman -Su" command: msys2-w32api-headers: local (4.0.0.6628-1) is newer than msys (4.0.0.4043.ce6b0d2-1) msys2-w32api-runtime: local (4.0.0.6628-1) is newer than msys (4.0.0.4043.ce6b0d2-1) What's problem? Is there a bug at version number upstream? Or msys2 change the version number and will use the second series since now? |

With the blueScreenView I found out that it have to do with ntoskrnl.exe+75bc0. In the internet people write that it can be have to do with drivers like graphic driver, or with the virus program. I exclude the msys folders now from the virus program and I make driver updates. I think not the the blue screen comes because of a stress out, in the office we makes many times 3d renderings and then the computers runs days with 100% cpu capacity and lots of ram usage. Maybe the writing and reading on the HD is a problem, because of the many little files, but under msys1 I also don't had that problem. It is not so so often, so is not so a big pain. Have a nice evening! I honestly couldn't stress my machines more if I tried. BSOD to me means overheating, dodgy drivers or some OS corruption. Alexey, you run in a VM don't you? Hello everybody, I am not sure that it makes sense to report this, but some times I get bluescreens when I compile tools. I have not read what was staying on the bluescreen, next time I will look on it. But it is not only here on my home computer, it was also in my office. And both have a lot of ram and good cpus. Here on my home laptop I have 8 threads and I compile with 6 (24gb ram). I was thinking it is happen when I have two mintty shells open and compile parallel, but it was now also happen with only one instance. Best Regards! Jonathan |
