Since the last update of my Msys2 Installation, tmux is now running on the 2.2 version.
However, it no longer works.. When I call "tmux" in my shell, it freezes the console.
What should I do to fix this problem ?
Thanks

That's what I was going to ask. On mine, when I re-install, it says 2.0.198.g9a0ce98-1 version.
How did you install the newer version? Did you have to download the package separately by hand somehow? I'm not recommending anyone install the newer version, which apparently does not work. Just wondering why and how you did it.

To synchronize your local database with the external repositories so pacman becomes aware of newer versions of packages that are available.
The command pacman -Syu does the synchronize then update all installed
packages in one shot. It is not recommenced to use pacman -Su directly to
update all packages because updating core runtime packages (pacman, bash,
msys2-runtime) requires a full restart of MSYS2 (i.e. closing all instances
to the msys2 dll is fully unloaded).

With pacman, I installed the older version of the package, and it works.
tmux-git-2.0.198.g9a0ce98-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz is my working version
tmux-git-2.1.61.gc975de2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz is the unfunctional version.

Just type this command in the prompt:
$ pacman -Syu
Yeah, do:
To synchronize your local database with the external repositories so
pacman
becomes aware of newer versions of packages that are available. The command
pacman -Syu
does the synchronize then update all installedpackages in one shot. It is not recommenced to use
pacman -Su
directly toupdate all packages because updating core runtime packages (pacman, bash,
msys2-runtime) requires a full restart of MSYS2 (i.e. closing all instances
to the msys2 dll is fully unloaded).
That's why it's better to first synchronize than follow
https://sourceforge.net/p/msys2/wiki/MSYS2%20installation/ in the Updating
Packages section. The steps are usually simply:
update-core
. If one of the packages is updated during script runyou MUST restart MSYS2.
pacman -Su

Matt

Thanks for this great advice about update-core :)
