mrViewer 2 (mrv2) the successor to mrViewer is now in alpha. Sourceforge now hosts binaries for Windows 8.1 or later, macOS (Catalina or later) and Linux (RedHat 8 or Ubuntu 20) at http://www.sourceforge.net/p/mrv2 .
A big thanks goes to Darby Johnston who created the tlRender video library that mrv2 now uses.
The source code, with build instructions is at https://www.github.com/ggarra13/mrv2 .

Very happy to see the upgraded version of mrViewer, I believe it will definitely get better and better, come on!
In the plan of mrv2, is it considered to design a modernized interface for it? I believe this must be the common wish of the fans. And the modern interface will have a revolutionary impact on its promotion and market share. I firmly believe
Thanks again for your dedication and hard work, have a nice day

Have you tried mrv2 yet ? It comes with a brand new interface of dockable panels (which can be pulled to become windows) and the layout is kept between sessions of opening/closing mrv2, Most common functions are in the menus now.
Personally, I am happy with the changes as is. In all honesty, the GUI is not as good as xStudio (which I think they have the nicest GUI yet, but they currently lack all the feature of mrv2). On a positive note, I htink the mrv2 GUI is better than RV's default.
Anyway, if you can provide a mockup of things that could be improved in mrv2 GUI, I can still change it.

Yes, I've tried it, the new properties window is really handy, it deserves a thumbs up ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
Maybe our judgment standards are different. From the first impression, the interface styles of mrviewer and mrviewer2 are very similar (big buttons and icons are all over the entire interface, which looks very complicated and lacks order). Unfortunately, I am just a layman. Can't provide you with valuable help

Personally, the buttons could be shrunk and grouped to make the interface look cleaner, that's the only thing I can think of

Attached are a few pictures, I donโ€™t know if it is helpful, hope more fans can participate in the discussion and provide help
