Seems there is an issue, you edited my post instead of replying to it ! OOPS! I apologyze. There's no EDL on mrv2 yet. It won't be there this year and there's no ETA for it yet. This year in mrv2 you'll be able to see the EDL (OpenTimelineIO) timeline, but not edit it.
Seems there is an issue, you edited my post instead of replying to it ! Hey there ! I'm a cg animator and I was looking for a free open source professional player when I stumble upon yours. It does a really great job but I have nonetheless some requests which would greatly improve the use of your player for animator use. I hope you will find this useful : Add a delete frame (with sound) option/hotkey. Quicktime professional player got that built in option and it's so far the only player I've found...

Hey there ! Add a delete frame (with sound) option/hotkey. Quicktime professional player got that built in option and it's so far the only player I've found having that very, very useful possibility even rv player doesn't have. For a professional animator it is a real game changer. If I would have only one request it would be this one. Currently, you can manually do it if you are willing to go to the EDL Edit Window. You can then use move the playback to the frame you want to cut, use the scissor...

Development of mrViewer has stopped. I have moved to rewriting it as the name of mrv2. Some of the things you mentioned have already been addressed in mrv2. Others are missing. You can find mrv2 (currently at v0.5.4) at: https://www.github.com/ggarra13/mrv2 or: https://www.sourceforge.net/p/mrv2/files

Hello again! Don't know if you remember me but I had done a full summary wishlist and buglist earlier that you replied to very positively, so here's another one on a more specific topic To give/re-create the use scenario: Took a 1920 x 1080 .mov (duration around 500 frame) and loaded it into mrViewer. Then started doing drawovers and text notes. Version: mrViewer 64 bit 6.2.3 - Aug 28 2022 on Windows 10 Did another round of checks this time in terms of using mrViewer for review purposes and found...

mrv2 has recently added python support in v0.3.5. I would appreciate feedback on what you'd like to see and how you like the python bindings. You can find mrv2 binaries at: https://sourceforge.net/p/mrv2 or the source code with build instructions at: https://github.com/ggarra13/mrv2
mrViewer 2 (mrv2) the successor to mrViewer is now in alpha. Sourceforge now hosts binaries for Windows 8.1 or later, macOS (Catalina or later) and Linux (RedHat 8 or Ubuntu 20) at http://www.sourceforge.net/p/mrv2 . A big thanks goes to Darby Johnston who created the tlRender video library that mrv2 now uses. The source code, with build instructions is at https://www.github.com/ggarra13/mrv2 .
Would it be possible to implement hotkeys to call custom scripts with the currently playing file provided? Maybe we could add the path to our script in the keymap file? Use cases could be: - open the currently playing file in nuke - do some ffmpeg magic with the files - copy the files

Yes, I've tried it, the new properties window is really handy, it deserves a thumbs up 👍👍 Maybe our judgment standards are different. From the first impression, the interface styles of mrviewer and mrviewer2 are very similar (big buttons and icons are all over the entire interface, which looks very complicated and lacks order). Unfortunately, I am just a layman. Can't provide you with valuable help Personally, the buttons could be shrunk and grouped to make the interface look cleaner, that's the...

Have you tried mrv2 yet ? It comes with a brand new interface of dockable panels (which can be pulled to become windows) and the layout is kept between sessions of opening/closing mrv2, Most common functions are in the menus now. Personally, I am happy with the changes as is. In all honesty, the GUI is not as good as xStudio (which I think they have the nicest GUI yet, but they currently lack all the feature of mrv2). On a positive note, I htink the mrv2 GUI is better than RV's default. Anyway, if...

Very happy to see the upgraded version of mrViewer, I believe it will definitely get better and better, come on! In the plan of mrv2, is it considered to design a modernized interface for it? I believe this must be the common wish of the fans. And the modern interface will have a revolutionary impact on its promotion and market share. I firmly believe Thanks again for your dedication and hard work, have a nice day

Platform? VIdeo codec used? FFmpeg version ( in About Window )? Resolution? Sample movie? I am afraid those glitches may be an issue of ffmpeg with some codecs and as such, I may be unable to fix them.
(See attachemed image) MrViewer sometimes displays these glitched frames when i scrub to random points on the timeline. I think it happens when the program isnt quite done buffering the video.
This attached version should cover the most visible things. However something must've gone wrong in this po file, because i can no longer open three categories in the preferences. Those are: User Interface/File Requester 3D Luts/Default Output Device Transform (ODT) 3D Luts/Default Rendering Transform (RT) other than that, everything works.
Simplified build dir. New German translation.
Made mk work like build_dir.sh, not using the KERNEL version.
Changed build_dir.sh to not include the KERNEL RELEASE.
Fixed LibVPX tag due to a typo.
Fixed compilation to new OS install.
Updated LibZ to 1.2.13
Changed BuildLibZ to download the library from fossils directory.

The German translation was an automatic translation done by Google, so it isn't surprising it is confusing. Find attached the German .po file. It is a simple file with the English message on top and the German message below. You just need to be careful with the newlines and empty lines .It also lists where it comes from the source code (so you may want to download the code to know the context of the text). To translate the .po file into an .mo file, you need to get the gettext utilities from here:...

It may be possible that Windows 11 has changed permissions on setting environment variables. If so, you will need to change the variable manually. Go to the Start icon, select RMB->System. Go to Advanced Configuration of the System. Check the environment variables for you (your user name). You should have a LANGUAGE variable set to en.UTF-8. If it is missing or says something different, create it with New or Edit. Make sure it is: LANGUAGE en.UTF-8 Start mrViewer and it should show you the GUI in...
My Windows 11 is in german, and MrViewer decided to automatically use that language as well. However i am unable to change the language in the settings: I've set it to english, and when i close and re-open the program it still shows as "English" on the dropdown, but all of the UI text will still be german.
i don't know how to vote in this forum, but could i maybe help you with the german translation? I noticed that it switched to that by default on my PC, but it's still quite unfinished and might confuse some new users in its current state.
MrViewer could show some extra info about the current file in the title bar, such as * Resolution * File Size * Bit Depth (Optionally there would also be a setting to configure which exact info is beeing shown)
Removed old chocolatey files.
Fixed pixel_ratio. Fixed OCIO display/view quoting '/'.
What platform are you on? Can you provide a short sample movie file? It is likely that the latest codec that is distributed for Adobe, etc. is not fully compatible with the older decoder that ships with ffmpeg.
Hi -- Love mrViewer! Having an issue with NotchLC playback though: it looks like the attached image, although it does play.
Thanks! Solved. It was 100% on my side. A problem with my window manager. Thanks for your help non the less. Sorry for wastin your time. I've donated you a beer.

When I said the stack trace, I meant the output you get when it crashes like you did in this thread at the beginning (ie. wthout strace). As far as I can tell, mrViewer is not crashing. Does it dump core or a segfault at the end? It seems it never gets to the OCIO reading. First, just unset the OCIO environment variable in case you have it set up to an invalid file: $ unset OCIO Then, try it with debug output, like: $ mrViewer -d 4 &> log.txt It will print lots of messages, that's why I send it to...

Can you post the stack trace you get when you start mrViewer? I just downloaded the latest v6.2.3 and the libraries that appear in this thread are shipping with it (I tried it on an Ubuntu 22.04 box). So it is likely something else that is causing the problem.
I've tried to update to the version 6.2.3, but the same problem still exists. Would it be possible to include those libaries in the main debian package?
Made FLTK build with latest commit.
Added missing cmake/policies.cmake.
Fixed compilation due to broken CMakeFiles.txt / cmake/translations.cmake
Fixed BuildLibRaw looking for lcms2.dylib in lib/ instead of Release/lib.
Fixed LibRaw's dependency on LCMS2 ( on Mac, still picks bad path ).
Made CMakeFiles.txt more robust and a tad cleaner. Made R3DSDK and BlackMagick's BRAW be optional.
Made FindTinyXML2.cmake not search in /lib /lib64 nor /usr/local/lib.
Merge branch 'master' of github.com:ggarra13/mrviewer
Fixed FindTinyXML2 to look in CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH first.
Fixed Text tool which had gotten broken in 6.2.3.
Fixed FFMPEG compilation when using GPL.
Fixed SuperBuild cmake file to include the optional components.
Fixed BuildLibHarfbuzz.cmake on macOS.
