Hello again, Sure I agree that your program is very flexible and elegant. Congratulations! It's so cool that I'm trying to develop software tools for a lab for teaching network management and provisioning of TE mpls using it. It's just the begining, and so far everything is working very well with your software. Thank you for offering your help. For better control, in order I can see what every ILM interface is receiving, I will use a per-interface configuration of labelspace. Regards, Josdeyvi On Wed, Apr 27, 2005 at 09:22:41AM -0300, Josdeyvi Russi wrote: > Hi Leu, > > Sorry asking it again to you, but I?m really trying to understand the labelspace concept in MPLS for Linux. > > Now that you can have the number of packets and bytes that one ILM entry receive, what means when you have two or more interfaces at the same labelspace? > > I don?t know, but I was thinking if the best was not allowing two or more interfaces with the same labelspace. I would try posting a question to the quagga-users mailing list and see if anyone knows how to get your cross compiler env to 'configure' correctly. Did you download the iptables RPM from http://mpls-linux.sf.net/ or patch/compile iptables by hand? No one has written RSVP-TE or CR-LDP signaling for mpls-linux. (Actually an RSVP-TE implementation does exist, google for 'RSVP-TE mpls-li= nux' and you will find more info) On Mon, Apr 25, 2005 at 06:42:41PM +0200, Miquel Casanovas Puigvi wrote: > Hello, I am Student of ETIS from Spain >=20 > I create a experimental plataform of routing with 6 computers. Hello, I am Student of ETIS from Spain
I create a experimental plataform of routing with 6 computers. In my
experiment I have one path under mpls and run correctly. But, can I create
the alternative path for when the primary path failed.
Your see my esqueme:
(primary path is host_2, host_4)
host_2 -------- host_4
| |
(source) | | (destin)
host_1 ----| |----host_6
| |
| |
host_3 -------- host_5
(the alternetive path is host_3, and host_4)
How to detect that path is failed? There is something program I can use
for monitoring the link between hosts and that soported mpls?
And, when the link failed, there is any signal that indicate this state.
Is implemented the CR_LDP and RSVP_TE signal in mpls_linux?
I can find information envelope mpls and backup path?
thank you!!!!!

There was a project at the university of virginia that did this. I have not gotten around to integrating the changes, but the work was very good. Google for "multicast mpls-linux" and I think you will find it. try LDP, i know that it is in test and not for users but.....
PC1----PC2----PC3---PC4
LER LSR LSR LER
we start ldp on our 4 computers their are no crash of ldpd on this version.
In zebra we have somes labels (schema 1 (end of mail))
there are no "cross connects".
The ldp database (2) do not contain all the
network, and it do not affect labels to forward.
We can look more in details but we need more informations.
we must set a "fec" to make it work ??
we must set on ldpd that a router is a 'LER' or 'LSR' ? (command ?)
were is the file with all commands that can be set to ldpd, quagga ?
There is a hard limit on hop (max-hop-count) ? we can't set it.
Many commands that we type on zebra or ldpd do not appear in the running
config.
In ldpd.conf we have egress connected that is impossible to set or un
set with telnet.

The LDP part of quagga-mpls is not ready for users, it is still in development. You can use the static LSP configuration though. See the examples on http://mpls-linux.sf.net for more info. You can use iptables to map traffic to a LSP. You can also use iproute2 to map traffic to a LSP. For iptables you can use all of the normal iptables commands (google for a iptables howto) with the addition of the spec_nh target (-j spec_nh --spec_nh 0x8847:0x2). Here is a simple iptables examples (you will want to google for a iptables howto to learn more about iptables syntax): iptables -A OUTPUT -d 1.1.1.1/32 -j spec_nh --spec_nh 0x8847:0x2 0x2 is the key of a NHLFE On Tue, Apr 19, 2005 at 08:18:22AM -0700, Florin Rosca wrote: > Hello! > I've installed quagga-mpls and managed to set 2 LSPs > to the same network. > Now I'm trying to map the ftp traffic, on destination > port 21, to go by one LSP and the the other traffic to > go on the other LSP. > How do I do this? > I tryed with "tc /qdisc/class/filter" command, but > didn't manage..... > How do I use iptables? > I installed the rpm from quagga-mpls and when I type > "mpls ldp" in ldpd I get disconected...what is > happening? > Thanks for your answers..... > Florin=20 >=20 >=20 > =09 > __________________________________=20 > Do you Yahoo!?=20 > Plan great trips with Yahoo! Hello! I've installed quagga-mpls and managed to set 2 LSPs to the same network. Now I'm trying to map the ftp traffic, on destination port 21, to go by one LSP and the the other traffic to go on the other LSP. How do I do this? I tryed with "tc /qdisc/class/filter" command, but didn't manage..... How do I use iptables? I installed the rpm from quagga-mpls and when I type "mpls ldp" in ldpd I get disconected...what is happening? Thanks for your answers..... Florin __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? No : it's just crashing before it can do anything. When tcpdump starts, it looks for available interfaces by calling getifaddrs() to know on what interfaces it can listen. This call crashs if I've setup an ilm and does not crash if there's no ilm. There's absolutely no traffic occuring during my test. The crash is also reproducable with a small program that just calls getifaddrs(). I've tried to debug this and it seems that getifaddrs() uses netlink to get the interfaces in glibc >=3D 2.3.3. And there's a bogus netlink RTM_NEWADDR (IIRC) message that is received when the crash is happening (the interface index is wrong, with a value like 6323421!). I don't know if it's a bug in mpls or in the glibc since 'ip link show' does not crash (and it uses netlink to get the list of interfaces too)... Le lundi 18 avril 2005 =C3=A0 13:06 -0500, James R. The simple answer it so look in the headers of every email that goes to the email list and use the URLs listed, but I prefer this answer. (not meant to be a flame, I just think it is a creative way to say the above :-) Cheers Here is a step-by-step process on how to get unsubscribed from any Sourceforge mailing list. You will need the following: o Rum o Creme of Coconut o Pineapple Juice o Ice, crushed is best o Pineapple wedge & cherry garnish o a Glass o a Straw o a Blender 1) Pour 4 oz. of Creme of Coconut into the blender 2) Pour 4 ounces of Pineapple Juice into the blender 3) Add 3 ounces of Rum (leave off if your religion or personal preferences disagree with alchohol) 4) Add about 2 cups of crushed ice 5) Blend till smooth 6) Garnish with a cherry and wedge of pineapple 7) Pour into the glass, add a straw and the garnish 8) Drink the tasty beverage 9) Relax, and notice the URLs in the headers of *every post* to the mailing list: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mpls-linux-devel 10) Decide to visit that page 11) Notice the text at the bottom of that page: To change your subscription (... or unsubscribe from mpls-linux-general), enter your subscription email address: 12) Enter "fre...@sn..." in the little box and press "Edit Options" 13) Drink more of the tasty beverage 14) Enter in your password and hit "unsubscribe", and then finish the tasty beverage. If you don't remember or know your password, add the following steps 15) Press "Email My Password To Me" 16) Drink more of the tasty beverage 17) Read your e-mail and retrieve your password 18) Go to step 14. And you're all done! --=20 James R. Leu jl...@mi... |

Objet : Re: [mpls-linux-general] problem with ldpd in quagga A compiled version of quagga-mpls uses the ldp-portable source to implement ldpd. If you are usign pre-compiled binaried, then you do not need to download ldp-portable. If you are going to help with fixing ldpd, then you will need the quagga-mpls and ldp-portable source files.
