Hello, We realized an implementation of mpls-linux on a knoppix. It mean that you can test mlps-linux(mpls, zebra, ospf, bgp ...) on a live-cd without installing a linux on your computer. We actually search free storage (700Mo) to propose it for all the community. Our project is finish, so we can't produce a support. We can answer at somes questions. Thanks. -- Julien CAYSSOL http://www.aqwz.com/ Tèl : +33 664 973 067 |

Hello, The mplsadm utility is deprecated. MPLS configuration is done with the 'mpls' utility. Look for the patch to iproute2 for more info. Hello, I can't imagine why applying the MPLS patch would cause a problem in anything in the arch area. Have you tried compiling without the patch to make sure that works? You are correct that these are there for implementing QoS or CoS. Specifically tcindex and NF mark can be used by iptables and/or tc to influence Layer 3 routing descisions (on a egress LER) or queuing descision= s. The EXP bits allow for propogating QoS or CoS info across a Forwarding Adjacency, hence the reason why these commands only affect the EXP at the current level of the stack. The *fwd operations allow for re-use of MPLS componetns (not always just reuse of the NHLFEs pointed to by the 'fwd', but also of the NHLFE or ILM which utilizes the 'fwd') Let me know if you have any specific questions of how to use these. One thing to note is that I have not tested these instructions in sometime so some code rot may have occured. >=20 > Thanks >=20 > Bertrand Lemaitre >=20 > ---------------------------------------------------------------- > This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program. >=20 >=20 >=20 > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by: NEC IT Guy Games. Hi there, It seems you're new to MPLS. If this is the can I suggest reading some books of web-page that explain what MPLS is and how it work. Here are a few places to start, ofcourse a google search for MPLS will result in a lot more information to read. http://mplsrc.com/ http://students.ee.sun.ac.za/~hvtonder/arc_mplsOverview.htm http://www.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/lehre/ws0405/ks/pdf-2x1/09-l3ip_e-mpls.pdf On Tue, Jun 14, 2005 at 12:44:27PM +0200, Ra?l Gil wrote: > Hello! Hi there, I have an asnwer for you, but just as a point of order, your question is not specific to mpls-linux, and therefore should have been asked on a different mailing list, or better yet look in your systems man pages or do a google search. For example: rpm -i kernel-2.6.9-1.6_FC2mpls_1_946.i686.rpm --oldpackage Good luck! >=20 > What I must do? >=20 > Thanks >=20 >=20 > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by: NEC IT Guy Games. Hello all!
When I install rpm
rpm -i kernel-2.6.9-1.6_FC2mpls_1_946.i686.rpm
I obtain the following thing
package kernel-2.6.10-1.14_FC2 (which is newer than
kernel-2.6.9-1.6_FC2 mpls_1_946) is already installed
package kernel-2.6.10-1.770_FC2 (which is newer than
kernel-2.6.9-1.6_FC 2mpls_1_946) is already installed
What I must do?
Thanks

Hello! I am Ra=FAl Gil
I have found in mailing list the mpls utility usage
"mpls" utility usage
--------------------
=20
mpls nhlfe add key 0 instructions push gen 16 nexthop wlan0 ipv4
192.168.2.1
(output: "Key: 0x2")
mpls ilm add label gen 16 labelspace 0
mpls labelspace add dev eth0 labelspace 0
mpls xc add ilm_label gen 16 ilm_labelspace 0 nhlfe_key 0x2
mpls tunnel add dev mpls0 key 0x2
ip route add 10.0.0.0/24 via 192.168.2.1 spec_nh 0x8847 0x2
but I do not know that it makes each instruction (nhlfe, ilm,
labelspace, xc), I do not know that it means.
For example, if I execute 'mpls ilm add label gen 16 labelspace 0',
what I am doing?
Can you helpme?, please!
Ra=FAl Gil.

Yes there is a bug in the released version that doesn't zero out a string before dumping the config, so it ends up writing out garbage. It is fixed in my development tree. Hello! One small question: Does quagga-0.97.3-1.FC3mpls1_946a.i386.rpm has opaque LSA enabled? I couldn't manage to compile my own, I have many errors that some variables definition were not found. Still, the RPM works, but I would like to read the opaque LSAs from OSPF. Thanks! Florin Rosca __________________________________ Yahoo! Mail Mobile Take Yahoo! Mail with you! Hello! How can I measure the load of a LSP set up with Quagga? Is this information included in the Link State Advertisement of OSPF? How can I have access to it? Thanks a lot! If you are a developer willing to help, then ldpd is for you, otherwise don't waste your time. With that being said, last night I just started looking at the issue you mention. There must be a bug with matching the nexthop address of the route to the nexthop session. I have not made any progress in this area. Infact the VRF code has suffered some bit rot since there has been so much activity with IPv4 in the 2.6 tree. I plan on spending some significant time on VRF code in the near future. Once that is done, I will try to provide a packages that merge the two projects. The RPMs are designed for a fedora core 3 installation, not mandrake. The easiest way to get mpls-linux up and running is to use a machine with a fedora core 3 install. I do not know the correct way to go about compiling iproute2 on a mandrake machine. If you must use mandrake I suggest learning how to build a mandrake RPM and applying my patch to the RPM source.
