Hello, When ever i start LDP between two machines on the same network. When a session establishes between the two machines you find a entry in both the mpls_in files having the same label and instruction ( POP DLV) having the same key eg. 40004000 gen 16 0 POP DLV whats is the significance of these entries. I was tring to monitor the ldp traffic on my local net by useing tcpdump. Problem I have is I can see all the broadcast traffic and unicast traffic on monitor station but can't see the unicast traffic between other stations on my local net. In other words, on monitor station, I can only see the traffic to monitor station but not other traffic between other station. Anyone who familiar with tcpdump please help me. Thanks HH __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email alerts & NEW webcam video instant messaging with Yahoo! Messenger http://im.yahoo.com |

hi, We have installed the mpls-linux patch on which we are installing the ldp-portable-.060 core libraries. We are having some problems. The port directory make file already has the -DMPLS-LINUX option in it. So when we give make from the root ldp-portable directory it gives segmentation fault at=20 $(CC) -o $@ port/ldp_linux.o lib/libldp.a port/libldpport.a lib/libldp.a We are working with Linux-7.0 and on an acer 4100 machine. What we did was : Installed the patch and recompiled the kernel and started with the new kernel. put ldp-portable-.060.tar.gz in /usr/src Unzipped it there to form anothe dir ldp-portable cd ldp-portable and then we compiled=20 make=20 Any help in this regard would be useful. Thanks in Advance, Arvindh.R |

Hi nitin, I have been working on MPLS related stuff for nearly 6 months. The following would be challenging topics. 1. Since MPLS on Linux is almost ready from sourceforge.net U can try porting MPLS stack on some RTOS. I am porting on eCoS RTOS which is freely available and my target hardware is motorola's PowerPC. 2. U can enhance the capablilities of MPLS on Linux specifically LDP ( Label Distribution Protocol ) -- When I tried this stack from Sourceforge.net LDP was not ready for more than 2 machines. If U need any clarification mail me ...... also let me know Ur back ground. I'm messing around with a couple Ciscos (running 12.2 mainline), a Juniper (running 4.4) and a Linux box. While I haven't got the Linux box patched yet, I do have the Ciscos talking TDP, but I can't get the Juniper to talk to the Ciscos via LDP. After looking hard, Cisco still isn't supporting the RFC based LDP, they are using their Tag Dist Protocol. Nice. Maybe this is an old subject, but will Linux LDP work with Ciscos? Will it work with Juniper? I guess I can find out the hard way... Thanks! Dave Cisco Junip Linux Cisco Y N ? Junip N Y M Linux ? M Y Y = yes, confirmed N = no, confirmed M = maybe, based on the fact they both use RFC 3036 ? = don't know...anyone? |

Hello, As you've noticed I'm back from my looooonnnng mailing-list silence. Work combined with being out in CA getting ready for the Networld + InterOp MPLS interoperability lab, I was a bit over loaded. I have gotten e-mail about lots of cool things being added by people. Patches, docs, etc will be added to the CVS tree as I get a chance to look through them. One thing to note is that everything that is being contributed is assumed to be covered by the GPL or LGPL, all other licensing MUST be specifically spelled out. Jim -- James R. Leu |

Hello, Please don't take this the wrong way, but do you know how to use 'grep'? cd /usr/src/linux/net/mpls grep -l mii_tree *.[ch] mpls_in_info.c mpls_init.c mpls_input.c mpls_proc.c After looking in each the files you'll find it's defined in mpls_init.c mpls_init(). On Wed, Aug 01, 2001 at 06:14:50PM +0530, Pradeep wrote: > In the file mpls_init.c - there are two extern variables used namely > mii_tree(Of type struct mpls_in_info_tree) and moi_tree (Of Type struct > mpls_out_info_tree ). > > Can anyone please tell me where are these 2 > variables mii_tree and moi_tree declared?? > > Also, I am not able to find the definition of the > structures struct mpls_in_info_tree and struct mpls_out_info_tree. Can > anyone please tell me in which file is the definition of these 2 > structures present??? To find structure definitions you'd need to look in header files. So what I would do is: cd /usr/src/linux find . -name '*.h' -print | xargs grep -l 'struct mpls_in_info_tree' ./include/net/mpls.h Again, I'm not trying to be mean, but you atleast have to try a little before mailing the list. In the file mpls_init.c - there are two extern variables used namely mii_tree(Of type struct mpls_in_info_tree) and moi_tree (Of Type struct mpls_out_info_tree ). Can anyone please tell me where are these 2 variables mii_tree and moi_tree declared?? Also, I am not able to find the definition of the structures struct mpls_in_info_tree and struct mpls_out_info_tree. Can anyone please tell me in which file is the definition of these 2 structures present??? TIA Pradeep Pangi |
