Hi Renato! My name is Boris, I work in Ruggedcom with Danny McSwiggan on the mpls project. In the past couple of months I was evaluating the OpenSourceLSR package combined with the mpls-linux kernel. This went pretty well apart from the fact the LDPD used to crash a couple of times, it still was able to maintain the LDP session and send out the label mappings. I also was able to successfully create static LSP-s and pass mpls traffic back & forth. Two days ago I decided to upgrade to the last version of quagga from the master mpls stream that you seems to modify. I have a couple of questions : 1. Many header files included seem to be missing (few examples would be event.h, shim.h, mpls.h and many more). I am not certain what location to get those from. 2. In makefile (in lib and zebra) there are dependency on the following external libraries: "levent" as well as "lnetlink", however there is no rule to create those. In the previous version of quagga the package was complete in the sense of the sources and libraries necessary to build. We are still in am attempt to build the new quagga so I hope to hear from you. Thanks. /Boris. |

********************************************************************************************************************* ********************************************************************************************************************* IEEE HPSR 2012 June 24-27 Belgrade Serbia http://www.ieee-hpsr.org Important Dates Full paper submission (extended): February 3, 2012 Tutorial submission: January 20, 2012 Acceptance notifications: March 20, 2012 Camera-ready due: April 15, 2012 IEEE Conference on High Performance Switching and Routing 2012 will be held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Belgrade is a lively metropolis that is a blend of different cultures whose representatives were visiting at various points of history. As such, it is very well suited to host the IEEE HPSR conference that gathers scientists and engineers from the entire world, after Heidelberg, Dallas, Kobe, Torino, Arizona, Hong Kong, Poznan, New York, Shanghai, Paris, Dallas (again), and Cartagena. Internet traffic keeps growing thanks to the access technologies whose speeds are increasing at a fast pace, and thanks to many non-profit and commercial efforts to bridge the digital-divide by providing all the advantages of the Internet to developing countries as well. At the same time, challenging applications are gaining popularity on the Internet such as multimedia and P2P applications. Multimedia applications require a lot of bandwidth and low delays, while the traffic patterns of P2P applications are impossible to predict. IPv4 addresses are being exhausted at this very moment. Data centers are moving a vast amount of content through thousands of switches. Also, routers and switches are being attacked, and energy available for them, as for everything else, is decreasing. All these circumstances put a higher burden than ever on switching and routing. So, there is a lot of work to be done, and IEEE HPSR 2012 will do its part by addressing the following topics: Architectures of high-performance switches and routers High-speed packet processors Address lookup algorithms Packet classification, scheduling and dropping Switching, bridging and routing protocols Multicasting P2P routing Routing in wireless, mobile and sensor networks Optical switching and routing Switching, bridging and routing in data centers and clouds Data placement and migration Multiprocessor networks Network management Pricing, accounting and charging QoS and scalability of switching, bridging and routing Traffic characterization and engineering Power-aware switching, bridging and routing protocols High-speed network security Paper submission guidelines: Submitted papers must be unpublished, and cannot be submitted elsewhere at the same time. Accepted papers should not exceed 6 pages in two-column IEEE Transactions style (www.ieee.org). Accepted papers longer than 6 pages will be charged $100 for each extra page. Papers cannot be longer than 8 pages. Papers should be submitted as PDF files through the EDAS system (http://edas.info). All submitted papers will be subject to three independent reviews. Awards: The Best Paper Award will be granted based on the reviewers’ comments and scores that it received. Presentation of the paper will be scored by the audience, and will influence its final ranking. Note: In order to publish the paper at the IEEE HPSR 2012 proceedings and IEEE Xplore, the paper must be presented at the conference, and at least one of its authors should have a full registration. Non-refundable registration fees must be paid prior to uploading the final IEEE formatted, publication-ready, version of the paper. General Chairs: Aleksandra Smiljanić (Belgrade University, Serbia), Mounir Hamdi (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, China) Technical Program Committee Chairs: Jonathan Chao (Polytechnic Institute of NYU, USA), Eiji Oki (University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo, Japan), Cyriel Minkenberg (IBM Research, Switzerland) Publicity Chairs: Andrea Bianco (Politecnico di Torino, Italy), Aleksandar Kolarov (Telcordia, USA), Dominique Verchere (Alcatel-Lucent, France) Registration and Finance Chair: Milan Bjelica (Belgrade University, Serbia) Publication Chair: Ljiljana Trajković (Simon Fraser University, Canada) Local Arrangement Chairs: Zoran Čiča, Nataša Maksić, and Marija Antić (Belgrade University, Serbia) Tutorials Chair: Dejan Kostić (EPFL, Switzerland), dej...@ep... On the website : http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/mpls-linux/index.php?title=Main_Page I have noticed that one of the options you support for the OpensourceLSR is: "Any entry in the Linux routing table can have an outgoing label associated with it (this include multiple table support, TOS, and per interface routing) " Would you be so kind as to indicate what commands do I need to use in order to configure that option? I am using the vtysh configuration shell with the latest mpls-quagga software (since Sep 2010) version and I am currently have configured an ldp session which have advertised the label mapping: ruggedcom# debug ldp database attr ---------------------- Attribute List ---------------------- Id. Fec State Sess. InLabel OutLabel Label In/Eg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. 1.2.3.0/24 MAP_SENT 1 1 0 10000 egress 2. 2.2.2.0/24 MAP_SENT 1 2 0 10001 egress 3. 10.128.62.0/24 MAP_SENT 1 3 0 10002 egress 4. 1.1.1.0/24 MAP_RECV 1 0 1 10003 ingress 5. 1.2.3.0/24 MAP_RECV 1 0 0 10004 egress 6. 10.128.62.0/24 MAP_RECV 1 0 0 10005 egress My intention is to be able to forward the all the IP traffic to the specific address using the ldp label (similar to the IGP shortcut). Thank you in advance. /Boris. |

Hi all, I put my code on git trees on GitHub. This are their sites: https://github.com/i-maravic/iproute2 https://github.com/i-maravic/MPLS-Linux Any feedback would be appreciated. @Jorge I didn't put you as one of the authors. If you wish to put you there, just say in which files I should put your name and how. BR Igor |

Hi all, I was wondering what is happening with net-next mpls. I didn't see any commits lately. I added my fixes to this kernel and now I'm testing them. It would be very good if you would put it on git tree so other users could test it to. Also, your opinions and comments about my fixes are welcome. Tell me if you want to send my patches to this list. BR Igor |

Hello, I am in the process of installing the OpenSourceLSR code for linux kernel 2.6.38. So far I was able to create and run a linux kernel image with all the mpls patch symbols of the OpenSourceLSR included in the patch linux-kernel-v2.6.35.13-mpls1.980.patch from the archive. Can anyone help me to find the ways to activate the mpls options in the kernel, i.e. the mpls_init_module. OpenBSD is a good option, there isn't too much documentation but their code just works. Regarding this project, I'll release a _lot_ of updates in December, after I finish my graduation final work. This includes a full operational LDP, MPLS VPN, 6VPE and VRF-Lite. This will be my Christmas present to the mpls-linux subscribers! =) Best Regards, Renato. 2011/10/25 boris yakubov <bor...@ru...> > ** > Thank you, Sebastien, > Would you be able to recommend another stack which supports Mpls and > Quagga? > Thanks. > > > On 25/10/11 11:46 AM, Sébastien Cramatte wrote: > > OpenSourceLSR is incomplete, LDP crash when iface status change... > > 2011/10/25 boris yakubov <bor...@ru...> > >> Hello, >> My name is Boris. >> I am in the process of validation of the OpenSourceLSR package from >> http://code.google.com/p/opensource-lsr/downloads/list. Thank you, Sebastien, Would you be able to recommend another stack which supports Mpls and Quagga? Thanks.
