Please help! I have been using MPlayer OS X 2.0b9r5
for several days without problems, until today when I
attempted to open an AVI file. This caused an
immediate system-wide freeze crash, requiring forced
reboot. Subsequently I tried opening other AVI files
that I had previously viewed with MPlayer (having no
problems at all). When I double-click on an AVI file
in the Finder, MPlayer launches and freeze-crashes
immediately.

However, I am able to successfully launch MPlayer
directly from the Applications folder (i.e., not by
double-clicking an AVI file). MPlayer does not crash
the system until/unless I try to open an AVI file, in
which case it immediately crashes.

I am running Mac OSX 10.4.5 on an Intel iMac w/ 1 GB RAM.

i am experiencing the same thing, intermittently, on my
macbook pro 17". first of all, i cannot drag and drop files
into the mplayer playlist. if i try, nothing happens,
nothing shows up in the list. once in a while it results in
a system-wide crash/freeze. also, same as described above,
    sometimes when i double click a file, i get a system-wide
crash/freeze. not always, but often enough (and alongside
the playlist problem) for me to believe the app is not fully
    ported to intel macs.

I am also experiencing this problem on my Macbook Pro 15". Has anyone tried
    compiling from the source code?
