#10 can't open library

After copying Mplayer to my harddisk, it doesn't play any video
files.

The console says:

dyld: /Applications/MPlayer OS
X.app/Contents/Resources/mplayer can't open library:
/usr/lib/libncurses.5.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)

Can somebody explain to me what's going wrong?

mplayer 1.1 is compiled for os 10.2 - i get the same error
if i try to run it on a machine running 10.1. easiest
solution would of course be to upgrade to 10.2, or you could
look for an old version of mplayer.
