[MPlayerOSX-devel] Desperately seeking: Help installing mencoder on OS X (Intel)

Hello... I need to put mencoder on an OS X box, but this will be my first
installation of an open source package. All the the documentation I have
seen that says "complete" is actually incomplete for a novice like me. It
talks about usage flags, etc... but never really says, to install mencoder
on OS X, do 1. ,2., 3., etc.  It looks like I need to do something called
"emerge," but leaves you on your own to figure out how to do that. So, if
someone could please help me get started, I'd greatly appreciate it.
