If you set the player to repeat/loop and also set full screen,
sometimes when the clip ends and restarts, full screen mode exits
and you see the desktop/windows/etc. It should ALWAYS stay in
full screen when looping, until the user intervenes. This doesn't
happen all the time, but very very often.

I get a similar bug when fullscreen tries to move on to the next movie in
the playlist. For example:
mplayer mymovies.*
f (for fullscreen)
at the end of the movie, the old movie is stuck in a corner and the new one
doesn't play correctly. It's like the full-screen mode never exits when the
next movie starts playing.

This is actually an error in the macosx -vo device and it isn't just
fullscreen. That video device leaves ghost windows around whenever you
move through the playlists.
Use -vo quartz to fix it.
Or add vo=quartz to ~/.mplayer/config
