Hi, I know you only develop the frontend for Mplayer on OS-X but I
wanted to give an idea to the Mplayer community and couldn't find
an email address on the Hungarian site.

So, I apologise for sending this as a bug submission.

It would be really good if Mplayer supported the Digital Speech
Standard. This is widely used in digital voice recorders by such
companies as Phillips, Olympus, Dictaphone, Grundig.

Because these companies (Except Olympus who make a cut-down
version for OS-X) are too close-minded to develop player software
for any OS other than Windows it means that people who need to
use dictation (Dyslexics, people with limited sight, people who
have problems writing, writers, businessmen etc.) are stuck using
Windows.

I'm sure these companies could have developed a cross-platform
solution but they did not.

Allowing DSS support in Linux/Unix/OS-X would open up these OSs
to a community who have little choice at the moment.

I hope you can share this thought with the Mplayer community.

Best regards
