Looking at historical versions of mpg123, I had to go back to mpg123 
0.20 to find one with working terminal control and source.
Rebuilt it with current libc and GCC, needing to remove internal strndup 
and adjust the makefile to use the toolkit version of os2me.h and 
mmpm.lib and terminal control still works.
I'll stare at it more and try to figure out how it works there.
