In theory, the looping should do it. So it hangs waiting for data but does not error out. Can you do a debugging build and show the lines printed after pulling the cable?

I'm also wondering about timeouts on reconnect for these situations ... or rather frenzied failed connection attempts until network is back.

Does you pulling the cable imply the network being de-/reconfigured (like on a usual Linux desktop) or is it a static setup that then just has timeouts for packets being sent?
