Okay, I have created 2 perf reports.
The command for both reports was perf record mpg123 -R
The file loaded in both cases is the same file and it is 48kbps 22050Khz
For each report I played the same amount of time approx 12 seconds
from the start.
The first one was using 1% CPU
The second one was using 24% CPU
The filenames in the tar.gz attached ensure you know which one is which.

The two reports are amazingly different and must point to something
meaningful to someone. As for me it is a little above my knowledge on
this kind of stuff.

I will be interested in what you think?
