The latest version of the iPod software, especially the one running on the 3G nano (1.1.2) is especially susceptible to skipping or halting when a digital skip is encountered.

I understand that MP3Val is useful for detecting MPEG errors or file errors, but having the ability to detect a digital "skip", especially on that forces the iPod to skip to the next track, would be super.

I'm not sure how it would detect a digital "skip" but there must be some code out there that would be able to detect a radical spike in the track that would be common to a "skip". Of course, removing it from the compressed stream makes it interesting.

Anyway, I'd be interested if anyone was considering it because I have some great tracks that could be used for testing this feature. email me if you are interested.
