Oh and I have the commercial software already I guess I could try it. and maybe do some traffic sniffing to see what it is doing. But I am content with what motion is doing. I have motion just taking a bunch of jpegs from the webcams. I had issues trying to build motion with FF-mpeg I had to build ff-mpeg myself because I could not find it for rhel4-ia64 It seemed to build fine and install fine but when I went to build motion again it fell apart trying to compile.
