Hello all, I'm a new user of the "motion" system. I'm attempting to use it for motion detection and then being able to review the results in real time remotely. My system that I'm running "motion" on is a Pentium 4 using Linux at the 2.6.20 Kernel Level. Motion is at the 3.2.7 level. My webcam is a Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000. The code that I'm using for the html file I found on the Net and I merged in the cambozola code to produce the following file which I call "webcam.htm". <html> <head> <META HTTP-EQUIV="pragma" CONTENT="no-cache"> <META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="0"> </head> <body> <applet code=com.charliemouse.cambozola.Viewer archive=cambozola.jar width="320" height="240" style="border-width:1; border-color:gray; border-style:solid;"> <param name=url value="http://my.domain.name:8081"> </applet> <center> <h2>My Web Cam</h2> <img src="/home/myid/Motion.data/Movie.avi" width="320" height="240"> </center> </body> </html> I placed this file in the /etc/httpd/apache/htdocs directory. I also placed the cambozola.jar file in the htdocs directory. I bring up motion and it creates a file called "Movie.avi". I bring up my Swiftfox browser on my Linux system and enter the following command in the URL field "my.domain.name:8081" It runs Perfect. I have to click the reload button at the start to get it moving but thats OK by me and then the motion being displayed from the webcam is perfect. It appears that it dosn't need the htm file at all. A buddy of mine brings up his Windows XP system and starts up Internet Explorer. He then enters in his URL field the following data: "http://my.domain.name:8081/webcam.htm". On his System this appears to start some type of Download session where it appears to be attempting to download the AVI file rather than displaying it. Could someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong? If some one thinks that this problem is caused by an incorrect option in the "motion.conf" file I will be glad to supply my options to them. Any assistance to get "motion" output to successfully be displayed under a windows system will be greatly appreciated. Yours truly, Frank Krauss |
