Obviously experiment with the > contrast > range. The camera has a very good autosetting. In spcaview it automatically tunes brightness, constrast and white balance, producing a very good picture. I have tried different values in threadx (the thread for that specific camera) without success. I have another USB cam (Philips ToU Cam Pro - first version, pwc based) which work perfect in motion without the need to set those values manualy. I think is somehow related with theway motion access the camera through the driver. With another spca based cam (different sensor) I have succeed getting decent images by manually set the RED, GREEN and BLUE black level and gain in the modprobe.conf file.
