Hi, I have just installed Motion 3.2.4. I checked and confirmed I had RPM's installed for MySQL, and ffmpeg (according the "preparation for install" section of the guide). When I launch Motion from the command line with the option -s, I get the following: [root@trojan ~]# motion -s [0] Processing thread 0 - config file /usr/local/etc/motion.conf [0] Motion running in setup mode. [0] Thread device: /dev/video0 input 1 [0] Thread is from /usr/local/etc/motion.conf [0] Waiting for threads to finish, pid: 15351 [1] Thread started [1] Failed with YUV420P, trying YUV422 palette: Invalid argument [1] Raw changes: 26743 - changes after 'EedDl': 0 - labels: 0 - noise level: 90 [1] Raw changes: 8076 - changes after 'EedDl': 0 - labels: 0 - noise level: 90 [1] Raw changes: 5674 - changes after 'EedDl': 0 - labels: 0 - noise level: 117 [1] Raw changes: 4626 - changes after 'EedDl': 0 - labels: 0 - noise level: 117 [1] Raw changes: 4494 - changes after 'EedDl': 0 - labels: 0 - noise level: 117 [1] Raw changes: 2259 - changes after 'EedDl': 0 - labels: 0 - noise level: 117 ... and it continues until I give it a control-C. There are no files in my designated "target_dir" (i.e. no snapshots, motion videos, etc.). Here is a snip from my syslog: <start> Jan 15 20:47:31 trojan motion: [0] Processing thread 0 - config file /usr/local/etc/motion.conf Jan 15 20:47:31 trojan motion: [0] Thread is from /usr/local/etc/motion.conf Jan 15 20:47:31 trojan kernel: tuner 0-0060: TV freq (268435455.93) out of range (44-958) Jan 15 20:47:37 trojan motion: [0] Motion terminating <end> I am using FC3, Kernel 2.6.12-1.1381_FC3 (no modifications). I use a TV/Video Capture card called AirLink 101 ATVPCI883, which is remarkably similar to a KWorld card model LTV883 - both use the Conexant cx88 chip (a replacement to the bt8x8 chips). Otherwise the AirLink brand card is a very rare animal - Google gives me very little. The camera is a composite video type, brand is SWANN. The set-up is just one (1) camera; hence no extra threads. I get video (via the composite input) using XAWTV - no problem. My review of the "known issues" page shows an issue with the PWC driver and my Kernel, however, I interpret this as applying only to web cameras and therefore not my application. I found nothing about this on the FAQ. I have searched the mail archives but found nothing directly applicable to this. My libraries are: ffmpeg.i386 0.4.9-0.lvn.0.20.20050 installed ffmpeg-devel.i386 0.4.9-0.lvn.0.20.20050 installed mysql.i386 3.23.58-16.FC3.1 installed mysql-devel.i386 3.23.58-16.FC3.1 installed My motion.conf file is attached. Any suggestions or assistance you can provide would be most helpful. Thank you in advance. -- Rob Vance |
