I noted this post from Alexandre Gill in the ‘Flashing Video’ thread: > Tried with lowering the framerate and also raising the threshold to > get around my 12 year old webcam outputting flashing (darkly/lightly > exposed video output) and falsely triggering motion recording. > > I relented and purchased some $8 Dorhea OV5647 RPi camera module. Much > better quality and no false positives since! With regards to my issue I have the framerate set to 10 in motion.conf (default = 15), so should work to both cameras, right? I put the variable %fps in the camera name field to monitor. Right now one camera is displaying 3, the other 10. The one with ‘10’ might be because of detecting shadows. Both cameras will change fps , though I have noted 11 and 12. Is ‘framerate’ and ‘fps’ the same?? (I am also restricting my comments to since yesterday morning when I swapped out the wall wart which seems to have corrected most of my glitching). The other thing is the use of the RPi camera module. Probably good, just can’t be used here – unless someone can suggest a work-around. The Pi itself, or at least the 3, maybe 3B, I used doesn’t like heat. I had the Pi hanging in the Storage Area, everything was fine until Summer and it got to 120-130°F - maybe more – in there! I think the polyfuses liquefied and opened! Cooled and worked fine until the next heat session. Barry |
