Well I seem to have solved that error. I followed the instructions here http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1531&p=8877#p8837, and commented out the code snippet referring to emms. Everything is compiled and installed. Now to see if motion actually works. This was a slow and painful experience!
